Panchakarma is the unique concept of Ayurveda.
Pancha means five and Karma means action. So Panchakarma means five therapeutic procedures which removes vitiated doshas and brings homeostasis. Panchakarma is not only for detoxifying the body, but also for rejuvenation, strengthening the immune system and to increase the lifespan.
Shirodhara, Shirobhyanga, Netra Tarpana, Kati Basti, Janu basti, Manya Basti, Udvartana, Padabhyanga, Valuka sweda etc are Upakrama.
Why to do Panchakarma?
Ayurveda’s main aim is “स्वस्थस्य स्वास्थ्य रक्षणम् आतुरस्य विकार प्रशमनम्”
It means to maintain health in a healthy person and to cure disease in diseased.
Three doshas of the body i.e. Vata, Pitta, Kapha keep the body in balance, whenever there is imbalance in these doshas, there is disease. Main objective of Ayurvedic treatment is to normalize the doshas. To achieve this Ayurveda has various concepts like dinacharya(Daily regimen), Rutucharya(Seasonal regimen), Panchakarma etc. Opting Ayurvedic regime one can maintain health and lead a healthy life.
Vitiated doshas need to be expelled out of the body. Panchakarma is planned in particular season when there is dosha aggravation in healthy person to maintain health and if there is disease it can be planned anytime. Panchakarma balances both body and mind. Since 30 years Sharangdhar is providing health service to people by treating the root cause.
